Who’s next in line to face Ryan Garcia?

The American has revealed his upcoming plans in the ring.

Last weekend in Las Vegas, Ryan Garcia made light work of Conor Benn to retain his WBC welterweight crown.

Following his win, Garcia called for a unification clash with WBA champion Teofimo Lopez.

The Cinco de Mayo weekend is currently being touted for the rivals to meet in the ring.

Garcia has since expressed his hopes of returning to the ring within the next four months.

He said during a recent appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show: “I either want to get in the ring in December or January.

“I’m pretty sure I’m going to fight before [May].”

The 28-year-old was asked if he had anyone in mind, to which he replied: “There’s a lot of people out there.

“You have got Pitbull Cruz; I wouldn’t mind fighting him.

“You have Angel Fierro, who I sparred with for the Benn fight; I wouldn’t mind fighting him too.

“I won’t call it a tune-up, but I don’t want to get off guard and wait till May to fight.

“Why do I have to wait until May? I have no bruises; I have no hits to the head.

“Why can’t I fight? I’m going to give the fans a little treat.”

What does this mean for Ryan Garcia?

Garcia has one fight remaining on his deal with long-time promoter Golden Boy, before moving on from the promotional agreement that has shaped his career to date.

He has since revealed he is contractually obligated to compete on a Turki Alalshikh and Ring Magazine card, adding another layer to his immediate future.

With Ring Magazine believed to be the frontrunners to host Garcia vs Lopez, his next fight could offer a perfect chance to fulfil his Golden Boy obligations while gaining valuable rounds ahead of their blockbuster showdown.
