Viddal Riley is poised to kickstart 2026 in style as he takes on his toughest test yet, in what will be his first fight since signing with KSI’s new promotional outfit.
During 2025, Viddal Riley fought only once but in that contest he did enough to get claim the coveted Lonsdale Belt, as he dethroned Cheavon Clarke to claim the British cruiserweight title.
After complications with Boxxer throughout the calendar, Riley (13-0, 7 KOs) then announced that he had agreed to work with ‘Misfits Pro’, becoming the marquee signing for YouTuber KSI’s foray into the world of boxing promotion.
Now, despite being the new face of a brand previously focussed on crossover boxing, Riley is hoping to achieve further traditional honours in front of a new audience.
According to the European Boxing Union website, the 28-year-old is currently ‘in negotiations’ to take on European cruiserweight champion, Mateusz Masternak (50-6, 3 KOs).
The Polish veteran gave Chris Billam-Smith a run for his money when challenging for the Briton’s WBO world title in 2023, until he was forced to withdraw from the contest due to a rib injury.
However, the 38-year-old has responded to that defeat well and has secured three straight wins on home soil, the most recent of which saw him get his hands on the vacant EBU cruiserweight crown.
Riley has explained that he will never share a card featuring crossover fights and that ‘Misfits’ and ‘MF-Pro’ will be separate entities, with the latter being typical of a standard boxing show.
Additionally, Aloys Youmbi has withdrawn from purse bids ahead of a proposed challenge for Riley’s British title, opening the door for Riley to proceed to the European level in pursuit of the EBU’s title.
It remains to be seen whether Masternak-Riley will top a card in the United Kingdom or if Riley will be made to travel to the champion’s backyard and fight on a non-Misfits Pro show in Poland.
