The undisputed super bantamweight world champion has announced a move to featherweight in a move to become a multi weight world champion
A South Londoner that has achieved it all, the story of Ellie Scotney is truly special.
As the belts got collected at super bantamweight, the 122lbs limit also became harder and harder.
Firstly at Matchroom, and now at Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), Scotney has wiped out the competition, becoming one of very few British undisputed champions in the four belt era.
Much of the talk after defeating Mayelli Rosquero to achieve this dream was whether Scotney would make a defence of her titles against WBC mandatory Skye Nicolson.
Undoubtedly, Scotney-Nicolson would be one of the biggest fights in Female boxing, but it wont be for the undisputed titles at 122lbs.
Via Instagram, the 28 year old has officially announced her move to featherweight.
Her post is captioned: “I’ve given 4 years to 122lbs. Blood, sweat, tears… and yeah, even my hair in the final cut”.
“But I stayed because I had one mission: leave with every belt.
“One by one, champion to champion, no vacants… no favours”.
“I’ve always said that integrity is everything, and I’d like to think I held onto that through it all”.
“Thank you to my family, team and Most Valuable Promotions. So many of you have played a part in this moment”.
“All glory to the lord as I step into this next chapter”.
“126lbs awaits”.
Fellow MVP star Amanda Serrano has ruled at featherweight in recent years.
Could this be a potential fight down the line for Scotney, or will she want to go straight into title fights.
Another champion is Tiara Brown, who won her WBC world title by defeating Nicolson in 2025.
Will Scotney be able to surge through a second weight class?
