Tyson Fury’s manager addresses Zuffa Boxing signing rumours

Spencer Brown speaks on rumours of Fury signing with Zuffa.

Tyson Fury is one of the biggest stars in the boxing world, but he happens to exist in a solar system that is home to another very big star.

This other star is Anthony Joshua, and the two have been circling each other for a number of years now. However, they have yet to collide and share their light as one.

That’s certainly not for a lack of trying, as the meeting between them has been teased on several occasions, but we have never seen the pair of Britons in the same ring.

Given where both men currently are in their respective careers, this may be the final opportunity for them to give us what we want. And this year, their fight has seemed closer than ever to happening.

But when Fury appeared at the UFC Freedom 250 event earlier this week and teased a major announcement involving Dana White, a number of fans took this to mean that “The Gypsy King” was signing with–or had already signed to–Zuffa Boxing.

For many, this meant bad things for the chances of Fury vs. Joshua taking place, with a move to Zuffa considered a complication in negotiations.

However, Spencer Brown (Fury’s manager) has now addressed these rumours in an interview with journalist Gareth A. Davies.

Speaking on Davies’s YouTube channel, Brown stated, “Let me tell you, he’s not signed for Zuffa Boxing. But you know, it was all an illusion, wasn’t it? Who knows? You’re talkin’ about promoters who are masters here. They’re masters of illusion.”

Upon being asked about Fury claiming that Turki Alalshikh is his promoter until he retires, Brown replied that Frank Warren is still his promoter.

So, when it comes down to it, the plot only thickens.
