Tyson Fury wins comeback fight and calls out Anthony Joshua

The Britons shared a heated interaction after the final bell.

Tyson Fury and Arslanbek Makhmudov went head-to-head tonight at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Fury delivered a composed and dominant display to secure a clear-cut victory after a 16-month hiatus.

Makhmudov started aggressively, charging out in the opening rounds and briefly pinning Fury back with wild, looping shots.

He even landed a solid overhand right and threatened early.

But his attacks lacked accuracy and quickly took their toll on his energy levels.

From the second round onwards, Fury began to take control. His sharp counter-punching and consistent jab disrupted Makhmudov’s rhythm, while smart movement and body work gradually broke the Russian down.

By the middle rounds, Fury was dictating the pace with ease, picking his shots and exploiting Makhmudov’s increasingly laboured approach.

Although Makhmudov had moments of resistance, including a strong uppercut in the seventh, he was largely outclassed as the fight wore on.

Fury stepped up the tempo in the later rounds, landing clean combinations, punishing the body, and repeatedly snapping Makhmudov’s head back with uppercuts and hooks.

By the championship rounds, Makhmudov was exhausted and offering little in return, while Fury cruised in control, even threatening a late stoppage that ultimately never came.

The final bell confirmed what had become clear throughout the contest.

An impressive performance from Fury, who outboxed, outthought, and outlasted his opponent over the twelve rounds.

‘The Gypsy King’ controlled the fight to claim a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards, which read 120–108, 120–108, and 119–109.

But the drama didn’t end with the final bell.

After the win, Fury turned his attention to Anthony Joshua, who was watching from ringside, setting the stage for a potential blockbuster showdown.

What did Tyson Fury say?

“Next, I want to give you the fight you’ve all been waiting for. I want you, AJ, Anthony Joshua. Let’s give the five fans what they want.

“The Battle of Britain. And here’s my challenge. I challenge you, Anthony Joshua, to fight me, the Gypsy King, next.

“Do you accept my challenge?

“Come on, you big shithouse. Are you going to fight tonight?”

What did Anthony Joshua say?

“Tyson, I’ve never had no problem getting in the ring with you. I punched you out when we were kids.

“And after watching you here tonight, I’ll punch you up again. With all due respect, tonight is your night. And you know I’ll see across that ring from you in due time.

“You ain’t going to tell me what to do. I’ve been chasing you for the last 10 years. When you’re ready, you come and see me and tell me your terms and conditions.

“And I’ll have you in the ring when I’m ready. I’m the boss. You work for me.”
