‘The Gypsy King’ is gearing up for his return.
Tyson Fury is gearing up for a long-awaited showdown with long-term rival Anthony Joshua, with the pair expected to meet in the latter stages of 2026.
But before their blockbuster clash, both heavyweights will take part in separate ‘warm-up’ bouts.
Joshua is set to face Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Jeddah as he continues his return to the ring.
Fury had previously been linked with a comeback on Frank Warren’s Queensberry show in Dublin on August 1.
But Warren ruled out those claims a few weeks ago.
Instead, Fury will now return a day earlier than Joshua, to fight Mariusz Wach at the Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand.
The event on July 24 will be promoted by Spencer Brown of Goldstar Promotions, alongside Ring Magazine and Queensberry Promotions.
If both men come through unscathed, Fury is then expected to fly straight to Jeddah to come face-to-face with Joshua.
Fury said: “2026 is a landmark year for me in boxing and I’m excited to be able to bring this event to Pattaya, a part of the world that is special to me.
We’re coming together to put on a great show for the fans, while using the opportunity to give back to the local community, who have been so good to me every time I have visited.
“At the same time, I’m fully focused on preparing for a tough opponent and making sure I’m the best version of Tyson Fury going into fight night.
“It’s the start of a huge second half of the year for me.”
In recognition of this extraordinary commitment to giving back, the World Boxing Council (WBC) will honour ‘The Gypsy King’ by presenting him with the inaugural WBC Humanitarian Title.
What else do we know about Tyson Fury’s fight on July 24?
Fury returned to the ring in April, securing a unanimous decision victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov.
It marked his first outing since back-to-back points defeats to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024.
His next opponent, Mariusz Wach, is best known for his 2012 world title fight against Klitschko, where he challenged for the WBA, IBF, and WBO heavyweight belts.
Then in 2024, Wach was stopped inside two rounds by Moses Itauma, a result that will inevitably serve as a benchmark when Fury steps into the ring against the veteran.
