Speaking on his Instagram, Tyson Fury name drops the boxer as a potential opponent in the future.
Who is going to be the next opponent for Tyson Fury?
That’s been the biggest question that people have been asking ever since ‘The Gipsy King’ confirmed his return from retirement.
Tyson Fury is looking to climb back up the heavyweight ranks after suffering back-to-back losses to Ukraine boxing legend Oleksandr Usyk.
Much of the talk around Fury’s next opponent has centred around a much anticipated clash with British rival Anthony Joshua.
Fury vs. Joshua is a fight that British and boxing fans worldwide have been asking for years.
While the fight would have had much greater prestige if a world title was on the line, the fight should still draw massive numbers if it were to go ahead.
However, the tragic car crash in Nigeria that Anthony Joshua got hurt in has raised question marks around the feasibility of this fight happening any time soon.
With that in mind, many are asking who else it could be.
Boxing King Media exclusively revealed that Arslanbek Makhmudov is keen to be the man chosen to fight Tyson Fury next.
But there hasn’t been any formal confirmations that fight is going ahead.
And now we’ve heard from Tyson Fury in respects of what he thinks the future holds.
Speaking on his Instagram, Tyson Fury name drops Fabio Wardley as a potential opponent in the future.
Wardley is the current WBO heavyweight champion and has confessed to being keen on a fight with Fury also.
“Like i said lets see how i am looking in my return fight, Then later in 2026 this would be a good option for me to try become 3 x heavyweight champion,” Fury wrote on his social media page.
“@fabiowardley has a hard fight himself coming up soon. I know the fight you guys all want but at this time i wont say his name out of respect as he is in mourning,
“But if he is not going to continue in boxing š„ id like Big Fab as a big test this would be also a massive spectacle!š 2026 is the year of our lord Jesus christ š”.
While this statement clearly points at another fight coming first, Tyson Fury is planting the seeds for a potential all British world heavyweight championship bout against Fabio Wardley later down the road.
That leaves the door open for a potential face off with Arslanbek Makhmudov first.
With Tyson Fury sharing regular updates on his Instagram of his training sessions, it’s hard to see much more of a delay before we found out who his next opponent will be.
