Tyson Fury is wanting to keep busy ahead of his signed fight with long-term rival Anthony Joshua
Three days after the announcement all boxing fans have been waiting a decade for, some potential obstacles are starting to appear once again.
Turki Al-Sheikh took to X on Monday to announce that Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua has been signed to take place in late 2026.
The Gypsy King made his return to the ring earlier this month, defeating Arslanbek Makhmudov (21-3, 19ko’s) via unanimous decision.
What ensued was a verbal back and forth between Fury and Joshua.
Anthony Joshua has signed a multi-fight deal with Turki Al-Sheikh and SELA.
First of all, AJ will understandably take a warmup fight against Kristian Prenga (21-1, 20ko’s) in July.
It has now been revealed that Fury himself is now considering having his own tune up in the interim.
Hall of fame promoter Frank Warren has revealed that Fury “may decide he wants to do another fight”.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Warren continued:
“It wouldn’t surprise me. Tyson wants to keep busy”.
“Tyson has to have focus in his life as far as boxing is concerned”.
“It’s having a date. And at this moment there is no date [for the Joshua fight] because obviously AJ’s fighting in July.”
“AJ’s fighting on the 25th of July, he’ll want to go back into camp, that’s the sort of timescale,”.
“He’d prefer to do it in August/September”.
“That’s got to be all decided but I’ve got to be honest, for me, it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest because, for me, there’s only one winner,”.
“The money they’re getting paid, they can skip in, do cartwheels into the ring”.
“It’s all about box office and demand and thanks to the interest of the Saudis and them financing it”.
Eddie Hearn has revealed that Anthony Joshua will be revealing a career high pay day for this Tyson Fury fight.
