Tyson Fury comments on whether or not he will attend Anthony Joshua fight

Fury confirms whether or not he will attend Joshua vs. Prenga.

With Tyson Fury’s victory over Mariusz Wach earlier today, the former two-time world heavyweight champion has done his part in clearing an obstacle on the path to a long-awaited bout with Anthony Joshua later this year.

All that needs to happen now–or so it appears, at least–is that Joshua needs to get past Kristian Prenga tomorrow night. Should he do that, the fight that has evaded boxing fans for so long should get made.

Nothing is certain in this crazy sport of ours, of course, but it is looking quite likely that that will be the case at the moment. It seems that the only thing that could derail those plans right now is Joshua’s foe on the night.

Largely an unknown quantity, Prenga is a puncher from Albania whose 20 wins have all come by way of knockout. Regardless of his level, that is an eye-catching statistic and one of the main selling points going in.

That is not least because this is billed as somewhat of a comeback for Joshua in addition to a warm-up. With his last action in the ring being an odd affair against Jake Paul, the Briton is also not so long removed from a personal tragedy, having lost two of his close friends in a December car crash in Nigeria.

But as for the fight itself, some have wondered if Fury will be ringside to further hype the matchup. Earlier this week, Spencer Brown (Fury’s manager) stated in an interview with Boxing King Media that Fury wouldn’t be in attendance, citing commitment to his family.

But following his victory over Wach today, Fury spoke to The Stomping Ground. Upon being asked if he definitely wouldn’t be turning up for Joshua vs. Prenga, “The Gypsy King” replied, “I’m goin’, yeah … I’ll see you there ringside.”
