Tyson Fury has taken to his Instagram and confirmed that he is returning to boxing in 2026.
Tyson Fury is unretired.
Where have we heard that before?
‘The Gypsy King’ is not one for being afraid to step out of the ring.
To date, Tyson Fury has retired five times from the sport of boxing.
In 2014, David Haye pulling out of a fight saw Fury retire.
On that occasion, he returned after a few months.
2016, 2017 and 2022 all saw retirement announcements that were pulled back shortly after.
The most recent retirement was Tyson Fury was in 2025 after losing second loss to Oleksandr Usyk.
Usyk is the only man to have defeated Fury in his professional career and everyone thought the second loss would be the end of Fury’s illustrious career.
Fight fans the world over were disappointed that the long touted fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury was seemingly never going to take place.
Hyped as potentially the biggest fight in boxing history, the two British fighters never made it into the ring as they both tried and failed to beat Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
However, things might be back on the table as Fury is back in the world of boxing after weeks of speculation.
Tyson Fury has taken to his Instagram and confirmed that he is returning to boxing in 2026.
Fury posted a video of himself training and shared a caption confirming the news.
“2026 is that year Return of the mac🙏💙 Been away for a while but im back now, 37 years old and still punching. nothing better to do than punch 🥊 men in the face & get paid for it 😜 #boxing #fitlife #training#workout #life.”
Now that Tyson Fury is back, speculation will start on who he will fight next.
Many anticipated the bout with Anthony Joshua to take place this year, with several boxing personalities commenting that it was going to happen.
The unfortunate car crash involving Joshua might have changed things, however, and plans for that fight remain to be seen.
For now, boxing fans are going to sit back and enjoy the return of one of it’s most entertaining athletes in Tyson Fury.
