Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua could both retire after their fight

Fury and Joshua to potentially walk away after their all-British bout.

At the moment, it appears that we are heading towards Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua becoming a reality, with the all-British showdown pencilled in for November of this year.

The venue is still yet to be finalised–according to the most recent reports, at least–and there is still an issue regarding the time the fight will be staged at.

In any case, both Fury and Joshua have overcome the final hurdles ahead of their collision. On Friday, Fury stopped 46-year-old Polish gatekeeper Mariusz Wach to keep the matchup alive.

Joshua, meanwhile, survived an almighty scare in his win over Albanian puncher Kristian Prenga on Saturday, being dropped twice in the first round before ultimately stopping his foe in the second.

And when the two square off at last, they could very well both be stepping in the ring for the final time. That is, according to common opponent Dillian Whyte, at least.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Whyte stated, “It’s hard to say [who will win], because the boxing pugilists will pick Tyson Fury and the hardcore boxing fans will pick Anthony Joshua because AJ’s got power and Tyson Fury’s feet have slowed down, so I’ll say Fury on points [or] AJ by stoppage.

“Potentially, both men could hang up their gloves after the fight. When it’s done, they might say, ‘Listen, we’ve done everything.’ Tyson’s won all the belts. AJ’s been a unified world champion. They might just say, ‘Yeah, that’s it.'”

Certainly, the money generated from the Fury vs. Joshua affair will see both men walk away with their financial futures completely secure (which is already the case).

Given that, it’s entirely fair that both stars may choose to finally go out.
