Turki Alalshikh states intention to broker peace amongst boxing promoters

Turki Alalshikh speaks on his intention to broker peace amongst boxing promoters.

Boxing is easily one of the most chaotic sports in the world, and you can certainly argue that it takes top spot.

There will always be the debates surrounding controversial verdicts, controversial stoppages, and generally contentious calls in fights.

However, one thing that the world of boxing would definitely benefit from is all the major promoters getting along with each other. That way, fights can be made far more easily.

This means that both promoters and fans benefit in the process, so no-one loses out. But alas, that is not the current state of affairs. Especially when it comes to Zuffa Boxing, there have been major disputes among the sport’s top promoters.

Zuffa (headed by UFC boss Dana White) has faced legal trouble from Boxxer, Golden Boy Promotions, and DAZN all in the past few weeks. Additionally, Queensberry Promotions launched legal action against Sela and TKO earlier this year over the forming of Zuffa.

Boxing requires unity amongst promoters if it is to function at its maximum potential, and Turki Alalshikh has stated his intention to deliver just that.

Alalshikh was quoted earlier today as saying, “I’ll do my best to do a meeting soon between my brothers Dana White, Nick Khan, Frank Warren, Eddie Hearn, and my partners and friends DAZN to make peace and revolution for boxing.

“I hope I succeed and boxing fans see the white smoke rise from the chimney.

“I want to do it before losing my memory. I’m afraid in 2028 or 2029, I’ll forget my name.”

Alalshikh famously brought together Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren, who were previously fierce rivals. As a result, the two promoters have since formed a strong relationship that has seen them both operate under the DAZN roof.

Given that, there may be cause to be more optimistic about a brighter future for boxing.
