Turki Alalshikh in talks to invest in English football club

Turki Alalshikh to propose investment deal to English football club.

Turki Alalshikh’s work in the sport of boxing is already widely known and recognised. One of the most influential figures in the sport today, the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority has changed boxing massively since making his way onto the scene in 2023.

It was him and the vision of Riyadh Season that finally saw multiple long-awaited matchups put together, which he is set to continue doing with the expected all-British showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua later this year.

Yet it is not just boxing that Alalshikh has displayed his passion for, with Riyadh events also having involved several other sports like darts, snooker, and football.

As a result, some of the biggest names from these respective worlds have appeared as part of the Saudi shows, displaying a universal love of sport and big events as a whole.

With the controversy of Oleksandr Usyk vs. Rico Verhoeven still very fresh from Saturday, the most recent Riyadh event made a big impact in many ways.

Now, however, it would seem Alalshikh has turned his attention over to another of the sports he has previously been involved in. More specifically, football.

That is because it has been revealed that he is currently in talks regarding making an investment into Derby County Football Club, the English football team that currently competes in the Championship.

It is being reported that Alalshikh is presently in discussion with David Clowes (the owner of Derby) and that the Independent Football Regulator (IFR) is now carrying out some necessary checks before potentially giving Clowes the go-ahead to agree on a deal.

Should a deal be reached, it could very well mean great things for the team and its future.
