The trainer of Tyson Fury has been revealed ahead of his comeback fight against Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Since Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24ko’s) announced his return to the sport, there has been nothing but radio silence around his team for training camp.
All we did know is that the Gypsy King has took his training to south east Asia, with Thailand the chosen destination.
He has undoubtedly been enjoying the climate, which is much warmer than Morecambe.
Fury was last in the ring coming up to 16 months ago.
2024 saw Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15ko’s) defeat Fury in consecutive fights, handing the 6’9 heavyweight his only career defeats.
His lead trainer for these fights was the legendary Sugar Hill Steward.
Fury retired in early 2025, but with retirements being a common theme of an illustrious career, most fight fans knew a return was inevitable.
Live on Netflix, the Gypsy King is back and will face Arslanbek Makhmudov (22-2, 20ko’s) on April 11th at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
In the launch press conference, manager Spencer Brown expressed that news regarding Fury’s team will be announced in due course.
Brother Shane Fury publicly declared his desire to see Tyson in with a trainer like Dominic Ingle, Adam Booth or Shane McGuigan.
Close friend and sparring partner of Tyson Fury, Joseph Parker has revealed via Instagram that Sugar Hill Steward is out in Thailand with the team, and is likely to remain as Fury’s trainer.
Despite two narrow defeats to Usyk, the pair have enjoyed a brilliant run of victories together, becoming two time heavyweight world champion by defeating Deontay Wilder.
Sugar Hill Steward implemented aggression into Fury’s arsenal which has lead to brutal knockouts of Wilder twice and Dillian Whyte.
Whilst this revelation does not 100% confirm this, it is now highly likely that Sugar Hill Steward will be marshaling Fury come April 11th at Tottenham.
