Tommy Fury has shared his thoughts on the public fallout between Tyson Fury and John Fury ahead of the Arslanbek Makhmudov fight Saturday.
Tommy Fury’s (11-0, 4ko’s) launch press conference for his fight with the Worlds Strongest Man Eddie Hall is coincidentally on the fight week of his big brother Tyson Fury’s return to the ring.
Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24ko’s) takes on Arslanbek Makhmudov (22-2, 20ko’s) at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this Saturday on Netflix.
Despite the ‘Gypsy King’ taking the majority of his training camp out to Thailand, the build up has not been as smooth sailing as he would’ve hoped.
The launch press conference seemed to playout in classic Fury style.
Outspoken comedy from Tyson on the mic, to John going on a verbal rampage at Carl Froch, it felt like normality had resumed after a 14 month absence.
But just a number of weeks ago, John Fury in an interview with Playbook Boxing stated “my relationship with Tyson is destroyed”.
He continued by stating that he believes his son has not been the same fighter since the three brutal Wilder fights, and that long-standing head trainer Sugar Hill Steward is not the right man to lead Fury’s camp.
Speaking to The Stomping Ground, Tommy Fury has shared his thoughts on this personal matter:
“What I can see there is just a father looking out for his son”.
“He’s [Tyson] took a lot of big shots in his career”.
“If you asked any of us would we like to see him box again it would be a firm no, from a health reason we would prefer not”.
“But Tyson is his own man, he loves fighting”.
“It’s a dangerous fight, I know it is, it’s not easy”.
“Anyone at that weight cracks you, you know about it, you just never know”.
“That’s the worst bit about watching family members fight”.
Whether John Fury will appear on fight week is yet to be seen.
One thing is for sure is that the Fury’s will bring the energy regardless.
