The return of the 37-year-old ended in heartbreak after a suspected serious knee injury.
Conor McGregor made his return to the octagon at UFC 329 this weekend after a five-year hiatus.
‘The Notorious’ sustained a serious knee injury and is suspected to have torn his anterior cruciate ligament.
It was a devastating setback in his first fight since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in 2021.
Following McGregor’s loss, an array of combat sports’ top names shared their reactions online.
Including Terence Crawford, who wrote on X: “It’s crazy when they talk sh*t to me God punish them.”
The unbeaten boxing champion has traded barbs with the Irishman on several occasions, and the pair were once heavily linked to a blockbuster two-fight crossover series spanning both boxing and MMA.
McGregor even claimed Crawford rejected a $200 million offer for the fights.
But the American has since dismissed those claims.
This is not the first time that Crawford has weighed in on an MMA result.
After Ilia Topuria suffered his first professional defeat at UFC Freedom 250, ‘Bud’ questioned the hype.
Crawford wrote: “This the guy that said he would knock me out and whoop me and Shakur at the same time?”
Topuria lost to Justin Gaethje at the historic White House event, but the Spaniard had previously claimed he could beat Crawford in a boxing match.
