Surprise addition made to Derek Chisora vs. Deontay Wilder undercard

Chisora-Wilder undercard to feature American lightweight.

Derek Chisora’s fight with Deontay Wilder represents a meeting of two men who represent the old guard of heavyweight boxing.

Chisora, the Zimbabwean-born slugger who has long been a British favourite, has become known as a gatekeeper throughout his career. His record of 36-13 is evidence of this.

However, Chisora is one of the most popular gatekeepers of all time. Entertaining in both fighting style and personality, he brings to mind the pugilistic Britons of yesteryear.

In Britain, you don’t have to be a superstar to be treated like one, and Chisora is a prime example of that.

Whether he’s won or lost, his fanbase has cheered him on, and that’s exactly what British boxing is all about.

Regardless, Chisora is undoubtedly coming towards the end of his career, and he says that his fight against Wilder–his 50th–will be the last of his career.

If it is, he has given boxing fans some absolutely terrific memories over the years, and his followers will be hoping that he will go out on a win over a recognised name.

The undercard for his fight with Wilder has plenty in its own right, with Denzel Bentley vs. Endry Saavedra a particularly fantastic inclusion.

However, a very surprise name has now been added to the show.

Ashton ‘H2O’ Sylve (12-1, 10 KOs) will be taking up a slot on the Chisora-Wilder undercard.

Sylve was previously signed to Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, but messily split with the company before joining Misfits Boxing.

While under MVP, Sylve suffered a horrifying knockout loss to Canadian puncher Lucas Bahdi, a KO so shockingly disastrous that some were calling for Sylve’s retirement at the age of 20.

Nevertheless, he has returned with a win since, and he will now be fighting on the same card aa one of the most intriguing contests of the year.
