‘Stick to the football’ – Willy Hutchinson hits back at Simon Jordan

The 27-year-old’s performance certainly silenced doubters.

Willy Hutchinson outclassed Ezra Taylor over 10 rounds this weekend.

Although in the lead-up to their clash, ‘The Hutch Train’ was written off by talkSPORT’s Simon Jordan.

In fact, Jordan told him outright that Taylor was going to beat him.

But much to Jordan’s shock, the judges’ scorecards read 99-91, 98-92 and 98-92 in Hutchinson’s favour on Saturday night.

After claiming a convincing victory over ‘The Cannon’, Hutchinson said: “Simon Jordan, I’ll be calling you.

“He should stick to the football, shouldn’t he? Leave the boxing to the boxers…

“It’s wrong [telling a fighter they’re going to lose], especially a man that’s never been punched in the face ever in his life.

“He should be quiet, he should stick to the football and do what he’s doing with that…”

Aside from settling the score with Jordan, Hutchinson is now expected to target a return to world level.

Hutchinson explained to media post-fight: “Big massive respect to Ezra Taylor, even though he hates me, probably even more now.

“I believe I’m one of the best light heavyweights in the world, and I showed it tonight.

“I am ready to become world champion, I want that next. Anyone can have it.”
