Spencer Brown states Ben Shalom “stabbed him in the back”

Spencer Brown is the lead promoter for Fury-Makhmudov this Saturday, and has not minced his words over his relationship with promoter Ben Shalom.

With the Ring Magazine’s event this Saturday landing on Netflix, it rules out Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren from being lead promoter due to their exclusivity to DAZN.

This has given Spencer Brown of Goldstar Promotions, someone that has been heavily involved in all things the Ring Magazine and Riyadh Season, the opportunity to lead promote Tyson Fury’s return to the ring.

Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24ko’s) faces Arslanbek Makhmudov (21-2, 19ko’s) with Conor Benn (24-1, 14ko’s) facing Regis Prograis (30-3, 20ko’s) in the co-main event.

Spencer Brown is most known for being the manager of the Gypsy King, but his pool of talent stretches much further than that.

Another heavyweight under the stewardship of Spencer Brown is Guido Vianello (14-3-1, 12ko’s).

The Italian’s next fight was recently announced, against Martin Bakole (21-2-1, 16ko’s), on the Ring Magazine Usyk-Verhoeven undercard in Egypt.

These Turki Al-Sheikh and SELA funded fight cards are what all fighters want to be a part of.

However, problems on the Martin Bakole side of the table have caused this fight to be cancelled for now.

Bakole who has been signed to BOXXER and Ben Shalom took to X earlier this week stating that he ‘is ready to fight but Ben Shalom is trying to ruin his career’.

Shalom has responded in an interview with IFL TV by stating “I don’t know who’s advising him, it’s just kamikaze”.

“We’ve offered him fights consistently, I push Martin every time, for 7 figure purses”.

“We get him the Guido fight, we allowed him to take the money directly from SELA, they said no and asked for him to be released from his contract.

Spencer Brown was questioned on this ongoing situation, and responded to IFL TV by stating:

“The facts are the facts, all I know is the fight was done, and then all of a sudden it was off”.

“And that doesn’t happen once, it happens two or three times”.

“Vianello is now in a very bad situation, you can imagine how he felt”.

“I haven’t got a relationship with Ben Shalom, I have done more for that man than anyone would’ve done, he begged me to get him in with Turki Al-Sheikh”.

“He still stabbed me in the back, and still continues to do”.

“I saved him, and then this is what happens”.

Spencer Brown is hopeful that his Italian heavyweight contender Vianello will still fight on the Usyk-Verhoeven card this May in Egypt.
