Sky Sports are set to return to the sport of boxing after striking a landmark deal with Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP).
Sky Sports are back in boxing with a landmark promotional deal with Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP).
Sky Sports left the sport of boxing in 2025 when they decided to not renew their contract with Ben Shalom and BOXXER.
Sky Sports were the sports flagship broadcaster in the 2010s in the UK, with their partnership with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing bringing back the big fight feel to Saturday night boxing.
Despite Matchroom Boxing, and Queensberry Promotions both being on DAZN, and BOXXER being on the BBC, Sky Sports are not ready to leave a sport that has been so fruitful for them over the years.
MVP are fronted by crossover star and professional boxer Jake Paul.
Paul is now one of the sports biggest stars, he brings controversy but he also provides the sport with some of it’s biggest viewing figures year on year.
The man from Ohio fought Anthony Joshua in December in a remarkable spectacle that was watched live on Netflix by over 33 million people worldwide.
Jake Paul and his CEO Nakisa Bidarian have also revolutionised female boxing in recent years.
The promotions first major signing was Amanda Serrano, one of the greatest female fighters of all time.
The platform MVP provided for Serrano allowed her to fight Katie Taylor three times, headlining Madison Square Garden twice.
Subsequently, a plethora of female talent have followed suit and signed with MVP.
This includes British talent such as Caroline Dubois, Ellie Scotney and Chantelle Cameron, all of which are or have been world champions.
MVP will be hosting a press conference on Friday, February 6th at 12pm in London, England to formally announce their broadcast partnership with Sky Sports.
It has been confirmed that a number of MVP athletes will be in attendance for the launch of a project that will give fighters an opportunity to fight on the UK’s leading sports broadcaster.
