The unbeaten star is willing to meet Ryan Garcia in the ring on one condition.
Ryan Garcia delivered a statement performance in Las Vegas this weekend, overwhelming Mario Barrios to capture the WBC welterweight title.
Garcia certainly set the tempo early on, sending Barrios down within the opening 30 seconds on Saturday night.
The 27-year-old refused to relinquish control, and his emphatic victory secured him the first world championship of his 10-year professional career.
As attention turned to what will come next for him, Garcia wasted no time in issuing a call-out to his fierce rival.
During his post-fight interview on DAZN, he said: “You know who I want. He’s right there. Shakur Stevenson, let’s go. Let’s run that s***.
“I want to be a great champion, and I’m not scared of s***.
“I fought Devin Haney. I’ll fight Shakur Stevenson. I’ll fight anybody. Let’s f****** go.”
The unbeaten pound-for-pound star, Stevenson, has since outlined the main condition that would need to be met for him to share the ring with Garcia.
He explained: “Was VADA involved in this fight? I saw him with Rolly he didn’t look like that.
“If he’s fighting me next, I’m all for the challenge but VADA will be involved.
“We’ll meet in the middle [144lbs]. Two big stars, we don’t need a belt for the fight.
“I think it’s a great fight to make. I’m in this for big fights.
“Me and Ryan Garcia would be an even bigger fight and would be a tremendous fight.
“I want to fight him, and he wants to fight me, so it should be easy to get done.
“We’ve just got to make sure he’s on VADA, and there’s no cheating involved.”
A match-up would certainly settle years of verbal back-and-forth between the pair.
