Shakur Stevenson has welcomed a future fight with the UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria in a debate with streamer Adin Ross.
Shakur Stevenson has expressed his willingness to fight UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria.
Stevenson became a four weight world champion at just 28 years old in January, when he defeated Teofimo Lopez at Madison Square Garden to claim the WBO and Ring Magazine super lightweight world championships.
The event was the most attended boxing fight in Madison Square Garden history, and the man from Newark, New Jersey put in a performance that can only go down as a masterclass.
In the aftermath of the fight, Stevenson faced off with British star Conor Benn.
The four weight champ is exuding confidence after his victory and has been calling out fights with all the great fighters in and around his weight.
In the recent Ring Magazine pound for pound rankings, Stevenson has been moved up the number three, behind only Oleksandr Usyk and Naoya Inoue.
His recent victory has transcended his fame and Stevenson is now one of the hottest names in combat sports.
Both Stevenson and close friend and all time great Terence Crawford appeared on an Adin Ross KICK stream.
On this stream Shakur and Adin got into a debate on Boxing and the UFC.
Stevenson stated: “You have got to take that back- you said that UFC is better than boxing”.
“Not at all, it ain’t even close. The skill level is different. Hell no”.
“Tell him (Ilia Topuria) to come and fight me”.
“I don’t care, tell him to come and fight me”.
The current lightweight UFC champion is 17-0 and is one of the hottest names in mixed martial arts.
Topuria has elite stand-up skills in his field and has always declared his interest to enter a boxing ring in the future.
