Ryan Garner return announced for Jazza Dickens undercard

Unbeaten contender to return on world championship undercard.

James ‘Jazza’ Dickens is scheduled to defend his WBA super-featherweight title against former IBF champion Anthony Cacace in an absolutely cracking contest on the 14th of March in Dublin, Ireland.

The slick and tricky southpaw Dickens has been on a good run of form since a shocking knockout loss to Argentinian Hector Andres Sosa in 2023. After two stoppage wins over opponents with double-digit losses, Dickens outboxed Zelfa Barrett in what was considered somewhat of an upset.

But this win had nothing on what Dickens would do next, as he would travel to Turkey to knock out undefeated former Olympic gold medallist Albert Batyrgaziev to win the WBA interim title.

This would be upgraded to the full WBA championship upon Lamont Roach Jr. vacating the title in choosing to fight Isaac Cruz at super-lightweight.

Dickens’s first defence was scheduled to be against highly-touted Japanese contender Hayato Tsutsumi, but this bout was cancelled after Tsutsumi was forced to withdraw due to injury.

This opened up the opportunity for a big title fight against a U.K. opponent, and Anthony Cacace was quickly announced as Dickens’s first official world title defence.

The undercard, too, is filled with great action, and the newest addition to the show has just been announced.

Ryan ‘The Piranha’ Garner was last seen in action in July of 2025, which saw him stop Reece Bellotti to capture the British and Commonwealth super-featherweight titles in a career-best showing.

Garner has been out of the ring since then, but will be returning on the Dickens-Cacace card against an opponent yet to be announced.

As Garner (18-0, 9 KOs) operates in the same 130-pound class against both men who headline on the card, a world title fight against the winner could very well be in the near future in what would be another terrific all-British pairing at the weight.
