Two fights are reportedly set to take place on the Itauma-Hrgovic bill.
Moses Itauma is set for the biggest test of his career when he faces Filip Hrgovic next month at the O2 Arena in London.
It is seen as the perfect step-up for Itauma, with the Croatian possessing a consistent placement in the world rankings and a titanium chin to go along with it.
In other words, Hrgovic has the right ability and credibility, but he also is seen as vulnerable enough to be a stepping-stone. That is, if Itauma is good as many believe him to be.
That, of course, is what the contest ultimately comes down to: whether the hype is real or not. The implication behind the matchmaking is that it very much is.
However, we won’t know until the night, and that’s exactly what makes it so interesting. But of course, like any other fight, it will also have an undercard.
And while nothing has been officially announced yet, two fights in particular have been rumoured to take place as part of the show.
Firstly, it is thought that new Queensberry Promotions signee Guido Vianello (14-3-1, 12 KOs) will likely be facing David Adeleye (14-2, 13 KOs), a heavyweight bout that should provide for some terrific action.
Additionally, Sam Noakes (18-1, 16 KOs) is rumoured to be squaring off against Denys Berinchyk (19-1, 9 KOs), the former holder of the WBO lightweight title, which Noakes lost a very competitive decision for against Abdullah Mason in November.
Should Noakes beat Berinchyk, plans appear to already be in place for him to fight Joe Cordina on the rumoured 7 vs. 7 card between Queensberry and Matchroom Boxing later this year.
Cordina was scheduled to fight Mason last week, but he was forced to pull out due to visa issues related to an assault charge earlier this year.
