Regis Prograis addresses injury rumours ahead of Conor Benn clash

Regis Prograis has denied circulating rumours that he is badly injured ahead of his fight with Conor Benn this Saturday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Saturday will mark Conor Benn’s third consecutive fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and remarkably, it’s build-up has been just as controversial as his two fights in 2025.

Nothing was going to top the trash talk of the Eubank-Benn fights, but Conor Benn has certainly kept his name relevant.

This all started when he announced a shock departure from career-long promoter Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing to join Zuffa Boxing and Dana White.

A one fight deal to be chief support to Fury-Makhmudov on April 11th for a reported $15 million shocked everyone.

Now on Netflix, Conor Benn starts his move in weight back to welterweight, with a fight against former super-lightweight world champion Regis Prograis (30-3, 20ko’s).

This fights at a catchweight of 150lbs, ten pounds higher than the American’s championship weight.

The bout seemed to be in serious jeopardy just a number of weeks ago when reports circulated over an injury to Regis Prograis.

As of Wednesday of fight week, the fight is going ahead, and Regis Prograis has responded to the injury rumours.

In an interview with Radio Rahim and Sean Zittel, Prograis stated: “Nothing is going on with me, I don’t even know where that came from,”.

“Maybe somebody out there is trying to stop the fight or whatever, and they are saying things like that”.

“I’m good. I’m good to fight, for sure”.

“I didn’t even address it because I don’t have to.

“Let people think what they want, maybe Conor can think that”.

Responding to Eddie Hearn’s comments on IFL TV around the injury, Prograis stated:

“Eddie said, ‘Oh, he’s injured, he’s this.”

“Like, why would Eddie go and say that? What’s the purpose? Why is he trying to do it?”

“Maybe because Eddie did promote both of us, and so he’s not in this, so maybe that’s why.”

With the physical demands of a training camp, it is very rare that a fighter enters the ring 100%.

The Brit will enter the ring as a favourite on Saturday, but can Prograis halt the Benn train.
