Exciting prospect added to Southampton bill.
On the 20th of June, Southampton’s new wave of boxing talent will be on display when Ryan ‘The Piranha’ Garner contests for the WBC interim super-featherweight title against Michael Magnesi.
On the undercard, another player from the city (Lewis Edmondson) gets a big opportunity against former IBO light-heavyweight champion Lyndon Arthur.
It will be the big homecoming for Garner, who is knocking on the door of a title opportunity and will be mandatory to WBC champion O’Shaquie Foster should he get past Magnesi.
Garner and Edmondson won’t be the only representatives of their city on the show, however, as Queensberry Promotions have announced the addition of a scary-looking prospect who has won every one of his fights by knockout.
As an amateur, Taylor Bevan represented Wales, but he was born in Southampton. And since turning professional in the latter half of 2024, the 25-year-old super-middleweight has wreaked havoc on all who have faced him.
Possessing a perfect record of 8-0 with 8 KOs, Bevan has been no further than the 6th round. Lukas Ferneza (whose three defeats were decisions, one of which was to former world champion Vincent Feigenbutz) came out of his encounter with Bevan with his first stoppage defeat and a reported broken jaw.
Most recently, Martin Ezequiel Bulacio tried his luck against Bevan. But despite going the distance with the very well-regarded Arlen Lopez and Luka Plantic (and lasting four rounds with Kevin Lele Sadjo), Bevan dispatched him with a violent shot to the body in a mere two frames.
The young and heavy-handed 168-pounder is resembling something monstrous at the moment, and anyone who wishes to see what destruction he can cause next can see him in action in a month from now.
