Queensberry Promotions sign world-ranked heavyweight

Queensberry sign their newest ranked heavyweight.

Queensberry Promotions is consistently referred to as the “home of the heavyweights”, and for good reason. From world level to domestic, Frank Warren’s stable houses the richest roster of big men in all of the sport.

Tyson Fury, Moses Itauma, Fabio Wardley, Daniel Dubois, and many, many more all belong to Queensberry. And over time, the list of names only continues to grow.

And while the vast majority of them are British, Queensberry have also signed a number of international fighters. Just earlier this year, for example, Jared Anderson signed a co-promotional deal with them alongside Top Rank.

And yesterday, Queensberry announced their newest signing in the division, and it’s yet another non-British contender with a world ranking.

Guido Vianello is an Italian who has a number of notable names on his résumé. He holds a win over Arslanbek Makhmudov, a disputed loss to Efe Ajagba, and a more clear loss to Richard Torrez Jr.

Most recently, he bounced back from the Torrez defeat with a knockout victory over Canada’s unbeaten Alexis Barriere in October.

Though he hasn’t fought since then, there are a number of good opponents he could potentially face now that he’s under Queensberry.

A former 2016 Summer Olympian, Vianello is ranked #12 by the IBF and #13 by the WBC, which means that he is just the newest heavyweight across the top 15 of each governing body to sign with Queensberry.

Known as “The Gladiator” (being from Rome), Vianello is a very interesting addition to the most dense heavyweight stable in all of boxing.
