Queensberry sign well-regarded American contender.
Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions have officially announced the signing of American heavyweight contender Jared Anderson (18-1, 15 KOs).
Anderson was considered the biggest heavyweight hope from the United States, with fans tipping him to be a future star and world champion.
However, the career of the 26-year-old Ohio native has stalled somewhat due to a one-sided loss at the powerful fists of Congolese puncher Martin Bakole.
Anderson has scored a decision win over Greece’s Marios Kollias since, but has been out of the ring for over a year.
Now, however, the American has signed with Queensberry, considered by many to have the strongest heavyweight stable in all of boxing.
The signing is a co-promotional deal alongside Top Rank, who recently joined Queensberry under the DAZN roof.
In a press release, promoter Frank Warren stated, “I am thrilled to add Jared to our heavyweight ranks. Queensberry is the home of the heavyweights and the perfect platform for him to stay active and feature in the biggest fights.
“It is always a pleasure to work alongside Bob Arum and our friends at Top Rank. Bringing a leading American heavyweight into the mix only adds to the strength and excitement of our stable on both sides of the Atlantic.
Jared’s next fight will take place on British soil, with further details to be announced shortly.”
It is expected that Anderson’s next fight will be on the undercard for the WBO heavyweight championship fight between Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois.
The fight will be taking place in Manchester this May, and Anderson is thought to be making his debut on U.K. shores against former English champion Solomon Dacres.
