Queensberry announce popular fighter’s final bout.
Queensberry Promotions have announced the final professional bout of a popular British ticket seller as part of a double-header bill.
The very top of the card sees former IBO super-bantamweight champion Liam Davies (18-1, 9 KOs) square off against former Celtic, British, Commonwealth, and European featherweight champion Nathaniel Collins (17-1-1, 8 KOs).
Since a defeat at 122 pounds to Shabaz Masoud, Davies has looked to be an all-new force in the 126-pound division, defeating unbeaten former Olympian Kurt Walker in his featherweight debut.
Since then, Davies has demolished Francesco Grandelli, an Italian opponent Collins failed to put away himself.
Collins is coming off the first loss of his career to Cristobal Lorente, another Italian who also drew with Collins.
Davies vs. Collins is set to be a fascinating England vs. Scotland encounter between two proven fighters.
Meanwhile, former British middleweight champion Nathan Heaney (19-2-1 (1), 6 KOs) will be having the final fight of his career in a rematch against former Welsh Area champion Gerome Warburton (17-2-2, 2 KOs) on the same show.
Heaney–a fan-favourite amongst his Stoke faithful–lost to Warburton in his last fight and will be hoping to avenge the defeat in a second affair.
Also on the show is a British super-lightweight title fight between Luke McCormack (5-0, 3 KOs) and former English champion Kay Prospere (16-2-1, 7 KOs).
Finally, new Queensberry signee Gully Powar (13-1-1, 1 KO) appears against Nelson Birchall (11-0, 8 KOs) in another interesting bout at featherweight between two Britons in their early 20s.
The action will be taking place on the 26th of September at the bp pulse LIVE in Birmingham, England.
