Prince Naseem Hamed labels Johnny Nelson a “snake”

Prince Naseem Hamed has labelled his former stablemate Johnny Nelson a ‘snake’.

There’s never a dull day in the boxing world.

Over recent times the ongoing feud between Dana White and Eddie Hearn has been dominating the media.

In todays boxing feud, it’s two British boxing legends in Prince Naseem Hamed and Johnny Nelson.

One of Great Britain’s most iconic sports stars, Naseem Hamed was a unified featherweight world champion.

Him and Johnny Nelson were stablemates under the stewardship of Brendan Ingle, and both went on to have wonderful careers in the sport.

Johnny Nelson lost his first three fights as a professional.

What came next is truly remarkable.

The man from Sheffield then went on to capture British, European, WBC and WBO world titles.

Nelson has been a staple of the British boxing media since retirement, predominantly on Sky Sports.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Prince Naseem Hamed has verbally attacked his former stablemate.

Hamed stated: “Johnny wants publicity off my name”.

“I always realised, there was only ever one snake in that gym, and that was Johnny Nelson”.

“Johnny was frightened of his own shadow, unbelievable overachiever in boxing”.

“Without me coming from the same gym as him and opening the doors, I begged Frank Warren to put him on my undercards”.

“Frank Warren said to me, if he was fighting in my back gardens, I would draw the curtains”.

“Who did he ever entertain”?

Johnny Nelson is set to respond in an interview with Boxing King Media imminently.
