Plans for Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao 2 undercard revealed

The two legends are set to meet at the top of an exciting card later in the year.

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather had their inaugural encounter in 2015.

A night that was quickly dubbed as the 21st century’s biggest ever boxing event.

Now, over a decade later, the legends are gearing up to rematch on September 19 in Las Vegas.

The main event alone has captured the attention of fans worldwide, but questions have since been posed regarding the undercard action.

Jas Mathur, a key figure in organising the event, has offered an insight into how the undercard will shape up.

He told World Boxing News: “The plan for the undercard is to make it meaningful and forward-looking.

“This isn’t just about one historic main event; it’s about showcasing the future of boxing.

“We want generational storytelling on the card, blending established names, emerging contenders, and rising young stars who represent the next era of the sport.

“We have fighters like Manny Pacquiao Jr. [Jimuel] from Manny Pacquiao Promotions and Curmel Moton from Mayweather Promotions who embody that legacy-meets-future dynamic.

“Those are the kinds of athletes we’re looking to spotlight.

“On September 19, with a global platform of this scale, we intend to build the next generation of stars.

“While honouring the legends who paved the way.”

It’s no secret that both Pacquiao and Mayweather are well past the peak of their physical primes.

But their rematch is poised to be one of the biggest events in boxing history, as two of the sport’s all-time greats face off once again.
