The Ukrainian superstar has combined one of his biggest passions with business.
Oleksandr Usyk has certainly made a huge name for himself in the boxing world.
From cruiserweight dominance to stepping up and unifying the titles in boxing’s glamour division.
Although ‘The Cat’ has been on the sidelines since he beat Daniel Dubois for the undisputed world heavyweight titles last July.
As he prepares for his comeback to the ring, the heavyweight king has opened a new chapter of his career… in football.
Usyk announced on his Instagram account today that he has taken on a major role with Ukrainian Premier League club FC Polissya.
He captioned the post: “IT’S OFFICIAL!!
“I’m starting a new chapter – as the first vice president of the Polissia Football Club.
“I’ve always said: strength is in discipline, honesty and team. These principles stay with me and here.
“@fcpolissya, thank you for your trust! Moving forward together.
“Glory to Ukraine”
Oleksandr Usyk has already been involved with the club, even lacing up his boots to take part in a friendly match earlier this year.
He joined Polissya for their game in January against MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps, who featured Thomas Müller.
Despite his new role, Usyk is not hanging up his gloves just yet.
The Ukrainian star is returning to the ring on May 23 in Cairo, Egypt.
Usyk is set to make a voluntary defence of his WBC heavyweight title against kickboxer Rico Verhoeven.
