Gervonta Davis has had a fresh warrant ordered for his arrest over a probation violence dating back to a 2020 hit-and-run.
Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis (30-0-1, 28ko’s) has had a fresh warrant issued for his arrest, just a week after being released on bail for domestic abuse and attempted kidnapping in Florida.
The man from Baltimore has had a number of legal issues outside of the ring that has sent an overcast over a wonderful career in the sport of boxing.
Tank Davis is one of America’s biggest combat sports stars, the former WBA lightweight champion has a fan friendly hard hitting style that has seen him stop fighters like Ryan Garcia, Isaac Cruz, Frank Martin and Mario Barrios at 135lbs.
In his most recent fight, Tank received the first blemish on his record, in a controversial majority draw against Lamont Roach.
Tank was signed to fight Jake Paul in an exhibition bout live on Netflix last December.
The fight was officially cancelled due to ongoing allegations against Tank for domestic abuse and attempted kidnapping.
Paul went on to fight Anthony Joshua in a fight that was watched by over 33 million people live on Netflix.
After being arrested last week, Tank was bailed. However, it seems that Davis will be back behind bars imminently.
A Baltimore Circuit judge issued an arrest warrant for Gervonta Davis on Monday, citing a probation violation stemming from a November 2020 hit-and-run that injured four people.
In his most recent arrest case, it took two weeks for the authorities to track Davis down, it is yet to be seen how this fresh warrant will play out.
What is evident is that these out of ring issues that Davis is involved in are significantly detrimental to a career that has so much potential.
Long-standing rival of Davis Shakur Stevenson won a wide unanimous decision against Ring Magazine super lightweight Teofimo Lopez on Saturday at Madison Square Garden, undoubtedly boosting his pound for pound ranking.
