Moses Itauma vs. Filip Hrgovic undercard fights officially revealed

Itauma-Hrgovic undercard fights confirmed.

When Moses Itauma squares off against Filip Hrgovic, it will be with the hopes of all of Britain on his shoulders. Those who believe he is the real thing will have that belief put to the test for the first proper time.

In his opponent, Itauma will have a world-ranked foe with proven pedigree and a ludicrously tough chin. Victory will be necessary if his momentum is to continue.

However, that’s purely because many really do consider Itauma the real thing. Hrgovic is not a guaranteed win for anybody, yet the Briton is the favourite to get the job done.

If he should, it will depend on how good he looks doing it whether the praise will only get louder from there, such is the curse of being a well-regarded up-and-comer in boxing.

Nonetheless, the main event will be supported by an undercard, and a cracking one at that. In fact, we now have official confirmation of some of the bouts that will be on the bill.

Former WBO lightweight title challenger Sam Noakes (18-1, 16 KOs) will be facing former WBO lightweight world champion Denys Berinchyk (19-1, 9 KOs), a fight that is believed to be setting up an all-British battle with Joe Cordina if Noakes emerges victorious.

Constantin Ursu (15-0, 6 KOs) will defend his British and Commonwealth welterweight titles against Ben Vaughan (12-2, 4 KOs), a pairing that should be an absolute scrap if both stay true to their reputations.

And in the last of the confirmed matchups, former Commonwealth cruiserweight champion Aloys Junior (11-1, 9 KOs) will appear after over a year out of the ring to rumble with former WBC cruiserweight title challenger Mike Pérez (32-3-1 (1), 22 KOs).
