The unbeaten Moses Itauma is set to return to the ring this summer with the date and location revealed.
Many believe Moses Itauma (14-0, 12ko’s) is a world champion in waiting.
The 21 year old is not just destined to win a world title, he’s tipped to take over.
Last time out, the hotly tipped Itauma faced his toughest challenge to date, by the name of Jermaine Franklin (24-3, 15ko’s).
Franklin had previously gone the distance with Anthony Joshua (29-4, 27ko’s) and Dillian Whyte (31-4, 21ko’s), he’s known for his durability.
Itauma won in spectacular fashion, breaking Franklin down before a peach of an uppercut in the fifth round.
Questions are still being asked about Itauma’s gas tank and chin.
How many more step-ups are out there for the man from Kent before he starts competing at world level?
According to Ariel Helwani:
“Heavyweight rising star Moses Itauma is set to headline the O2 Arena in London on July 25″.
“Opponent is still TBD, but sources tell uncrownedcombat it is expected to be another step up for the 21 year old”.
“This will mark the first time Itauma headlines in London”.
Less than an hour up the A2 from his hometown of Chatham, the O2 Arena could become a home for Moses Itauma.
Eddie Hearn did similar with Anthony Joshua during his emergence phase.
Joshua won his first world title in South-East London defeating Charles Martin (30-5-1, 27ko’s) inside two rounds.
The question on everyone’s lips is who will be the opponent?
Will Queensberry look at a domestic name, or will they look overseas?
Deontay Wilder (45-4-1, 43ko’s) is now back in the win column after defeating Derek Chisora (36-14, 24ko’s).
A fan friendly fight would be the current British heavyweight champion Richard Riakporhe (20-1, 16ko’s).
Riakporhe has looked dangerous up at heavyweight, impressing last time out against Jeamie TKV (9-3, 5ko’s).
Whoever it is, the boxing world will be gripped watching Britain’s next star.
