Moses Itauma names opponent he will “definitely” face

Itauma reveals opponent he will “definitely” face.

It can be argued that Moses Itauma is the most hyped young fighter in all of boxing, with the 21-year-old heavyweight destroyer having turned heads since he turned professional at the age of 18 three years ago.

Comparisons to the likes of Mike Tyson were quick to be made, and the initial aim was for the Briton to break the legend’s record as the youngest heavyweight world champion in history.

That ship has sailed. However, people are still very excited as to what Itauma will go on to do, and for the simple fact that he has made every fight he’s been in look like an absolute cakewalk.

The likes of Dillian Whyte, Demsey McKean, and Jermaine Franklin were all seen as step-ups, yet each of them were taken out with very little effort on Itauma’s part.

When it comes down to it, nobody has actually troubled Itauma yet, and whether that changes in his scheduled contest against Filip Hrgovic depends on just how good he really is.

In the meantime, Itauma has sat down for an interview and confirmed the opponent he believes he will “definitely” face in the future.

“I think me and the [Daniel] Dubois fight will definitely happen at some point this year, next year, or the year after”, Itauma told iFL TV, “only because it’s two Brits, he doesn’t seem like he’s slowin’ down, I’m seemin’ like I’m speedin’ up, so I think that fight’s definitely gonna happen.”

Itauma did, however, say that he thinks the fight with Dubois will only happen when they have two or more belts between them, and he stated his belief that Frank Warren may make the fight when it will be for the undisputed championship.
