Moses Itauma names heavyweight more dangerous than him ahead of Filip Hrgovic fight

Itauma names who he considers to be the most dangerous heavyweight, and it’s not him.

For many in the boxing world, if there is one man who is most likely to reign as heavyweight king after Oleksandr Usyk retires, it is Moses Itauma, the 21-year-old terror from Chatham, Kent, England.

A horrifying force who arrived on the scene in early 2023, Itauma has made easy work of every single opponent who has faced him so far. Those who were deemed as step-ups were stepped over.

It is not just one thing that makes him so good, either. For a boxing big man, his speed and agility are ridiculous, with his hands likely being the quickest in the division since Andy Ruiz Jr.

And what’s a heavyweight who can’t punch, right? Fear not, for Itauma certainly can. Of his 14 opponents, 12 haven’t seen the final bell. The two that have were only in 6-round fights (the furthest Itauma has been).

When they brought in a man who was renowned for his tough chin (Jermaine Franklin), Itauma downed him like a plane under enemy fire. The American had gone the distance with Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte, but a mere five rounds with Itauma.

And so, a man with an even tougher chin (Filip Hrgovic) will be next up to bat this August. But for all his hype and ability, Itauma has named another man in his division who he regards as the most dangerous.

“I think the most dangerous heavyweight is Daniel Dubois”, Itauma told DAZN. When asked why, he stated, “You wouldn’t really wanna meet him in an alleyway, would you?”

Going further, Itauma said, “If [you] was to ask me, like, ‘We’re gonna go on a 2-v-2 fight. Who would you pick?’, I’d pick Daniel Dubois.”

Itauma then clarified that he would fight Dubois, which is a fight that many have been anticipating will happen in the near future.
