Eddie Hearn has added an undefeated middleweight contender to his Matchroom American stable as he signs former Top Rank star.
Matchroom Boxing are looking to dominate the American boxing scene, as part of their global strategy with DAZN.
Since entering the USA in 2017, Eddie Hearn has captured and promoted a plethora of world class American talent.
From record breaking stadium fights with Canelo Alvarez, to the genius of Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson, Matchroom Boxing are a competitive force in the States.
With Golden Boy Promotions having trouble renewing their DAZN broadcast deal, and Top Rank without a broadcast deal, 2026 is a massive opportunity to solidify their presence in America.
Hearn and Matchroom have started strong this year.
They were the lead promoter of Teofimo Lopez vs Shakur Stevenson at Madison Square Garden in January.
With Dana White and Zuffa boxing receiving the backing they have from Turki Al Sheikh and SELA, Matchroom must present some serious resistance to remain on top.
In remarkable scenes last Friday, Dana White unveiled Conor Benn as a Zuffa boxing, snatching one of Matchroom’s figurehead ambassadors.
Hearn was visibly gutted in interviews this weekend, but it is back to business.
According to Brunch Boxing, Matchroom Boxing have signed a multi fight deal with undefeated middleweight contender Troy Isley (15-0, 5ko’s).
Isley, who resides out of Virginia, is ranked number 4 with the WBO, and number 9 with the WBC.
Matchroom Boxing are promoting the WBC middleweight championship clash between Carlos Adames and Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams on March 21st at the Caribe Royal in Orlando, Florida.
Another victory against a top ten opponent could land Troy Isley a shot at the winner.
With unified WBO and IBF champion Jannibek Alimkhanuly now serving a 12 month suspension for failing a drugs test, middleweight supremacy is up for grabs.
Matchroom’s strategic positioning along with Isley’s high level boxing ability could land him at the very pinnacle of the sport very shortly.
