Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing are set to announce two more world title fights to an already stacked U.S schedule.
It’s been a strong start in 2026 for Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn, especially in America which is an important territory for the Essex based business.
Over recent months Matchroom and Top Rank have put together a number of cross-promotion fights.
None bigger than the recent announcement of Xander Zayas vs Jaron Ennis for the unified WBO and WBA super-welterweight titles at the Brooklyn Centre in New York.
Eddie Hearn has described the announcement of this fight as “a proud moment” for Matchroom Boxing.
Previously, when Matchroom and DAZN entered the American promotional market, they were laughed out of town.
Close to a decade later, DAZN is now home to 3 of America’s most prominent promotions, and Matchroom seem to have the most dates out of all of them.
Furthermore, as Matchroom gear up for a busy period of global promotion, Eddie Hearn has teased two world championship fight nights for the U.S schedule.
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Eddie Hearn stated: “On May 30th we will announce a huge world championship fight in the U.S”.
“On June 13th will be the return of Bam Rodriguez which we will announce this week”.
Our sources suggest that the May 30th world title fight is set to be O’Shaquie Foster (24-3, 12ko’s) defending his WBC world super featherweight title against Raymond Ford (18-1-1, 8ko’s).
The bout is expected to take place in Houston, Texas, the hometown of the champion O’Shaquie Foster.
For June 13th, it is believed that Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez (23-0, 16ko’s) will be making the move in weight to bantamweight.
There will be no tune ups for the pound for pound star who is believed to be bidding to become a multi weight world champion.
A rumoured opponent is WBA bantamweight champion Antonio Vargas (19-1-1, 11ko’s).
