Matchroom Boxing expected to announce four shows next week

Matchroom to announce four shows early next week.

With the major boxing promoters still yet to announce their schedules for the second half of the year, fans all over the world are waiting patiently for a more certain calendar to look forward to.

A lot of fights have been theorised, rumoured, teased, and not officially announced, which followers of the sport often grow reckless from. But when the announcements come, it makes all the waiting worth it.

And right now, if the reports are to be believed, Matchroom Boxing are set to announce four fights in their upcoming schedule, and they are expected to do so early next week.

The first of this quartet is the European middleweight title fight between George Liddard (14-0, 8 KOs) and Dario Morello (26-1, 4 KOs), an encounter expected to take place in London on the 22nd of August.

Next is a long-awaited cruiserweight clash between Pat Brown (6-0, 6 KOs) and John Hedges (12-0, 3 KOs), a fascinating blend of styles expected to mix together into a really interesting bout.

With a date of the 19th of September already confirmed, Brown and Hedges will be throwing down for the British title in Manchester.

Third is an IBF light-heavyweight final eliminator between Ben Whittaker (12-0-1, 9 KOs) and Conor Wallace (17-1, 12 KOs), which is expected to be made official for the 3rd of October in Birmingham.

Lastly, it is the rescheduled WBC super-lightweight title fight between current holder Dalton Smith (19-0, 14 KOs) and former holder Alberto Puello (24-1, 10 KOs).

This pairing was originally scheduled for last month, but was pulled after Smith suffered an injury. Now it is thought to be set for the 24th of October in Sheffield.

So, four bangers on British soil to look forward to. There you have it.
