Matchroom Boxing have announced that Conah Walker will headline in his beloved city of Wolverhampton against Sam Eggington.
A man quickly attaining British cult hero status in the world of boxing is Conah Walker (17-3-1, 8ko’s).
Trained by Jamie Moore, Walker has accumulated a run of victories that sees him on the cusp of world title opportunities.
In 2024, Walker was defeated narrowly by the now IBF world welterweight champion Lewis Crocker (22-0, 11ko’s).
Since then, the man from Wolverhampton has won four times consectutively.
His last victory undoubtedly the most impressive.
In December 2025, Conah Walker dramatically stopped amateur standout Pat McCormack (8-1, 6ko’s) via 12th round stoppage to win the IBF intercontinental title.
Hearn and Matchroom attempted to make the Lewis Crocker rematch for the world title.
However, due to the IBF enforcing mandatory Liam Paro (27-1, 16ko’s), ‘the Wolf’ has had to look elsewhere.
Instead, a fight that has the hallmarks of a domestic classic has been announced.
Conah Walker will face Sam Eggington (36-9, 20ko’s) at the University of Wolverhampton, The Halls on May 2nd, live on DAZN.
Both fighters have fan friendly styles, this all midlands clash is being labelled as ‘trenches’.
The supporting action includes new fan favourite Bilal Fawaz (11-1-1, 3ko’s) who will defend his British and Commonwealth 154lbs titles against Ryan Kelly (20-6-1, 8ko’s).
Highly tipped prospect Tiah May Ayton (5-0, 4ko’s) will face Stevi Levy (15-4, 2ko’s).
Former British and Commonwealth middleweight champion Kieran Conway (23-4-1, 7ko’s) also returns against Mark Jeffers (20-2, 7ko’s).
