Manager of Chris Eubank Jr. opens door to shock Kell Brook fight

Eubank Jr.’s manager speaks on next steps for his fighter.

Chris Eubank Jr. is one of the most popular British fighters of today to not win a major world title. Though he has held the IBO belt at both middleweight and super-middleweight, the son of the legendary Chris Eubank has not conquered the very top level of the sport quite like his father.

However, despite this, Eubank Jr. has captured the attention of the British boxing public and even those outside of the usual boxing circle.

This is largely thanks to his two-fight rivalry with Conor Benn, son of Eubank Jr.’s father’s rival Nigel Benn.

The first meeting between Eubank Jr. and Benn won “Fight of the Year” honours from The Ring for 2025, with both men doing their family lineages incredibly proud in an absolute ripsnorter that Eubank Jr. won 116-112 across the board.

The second fight was an entirely different affair, with Benn putting on a veritable clinic that saw him drop Eubank Jr. twice in a lopsided victory.

Ever since, Benn has left Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom stable and signed with Zuffa Boxing, with a fight against Regis Prograis set for the Tyson Fury vs. Arslanbek Makhmudov undercard.

As for Eubank Jr.? Well, we don’t know 100%.

However, Napper (Eubank Jr.’s manager) has now provided further insight into his fighter’s next steps in an interview with Boxing King Media.

Napper first addressed the recent rumours that Eubank Jr. has been in negotiations to fight Edgar Berlanga, pouring cold water on the claims by stating, “Chris has got zero time for a fight with Edgar Berlanga.”

Napper then questioned the American’s résumé by asking, “What’s his best win?”

When asked how his fighter is doing health-wise, Napper replied, “He’s ahead of where we would like him to be, but he’s not at 100% at all at the moment. So, we’re still workin’ on things, and hopefully, we’ll get him in the right place to fight at the end of the year.”

When Kell Brook was suggested as a potential opponent, Napper stated, “Yeah, Kell Brook’s a good name. That’s for sure. I can’t say it’s like Berlanga, you know? Kell Brook’s a very good name, you know? Beat Shawn Porter, ex-world champion. Fought a whole bunch of Hall-of-Famers, so yeah, that’s a fight that we’d like. But yeah, come up to 168 [pounds]. Let’s rock and roll.”

A former welterweight world champion, Kell Brook is set to return to the ring this April against Eisa Al Dah in Dubai, a fight headlining an event that will honour the late, great Ricky Hatton (who was originally scheduled to be Al Dah’s opponent).

Should an all-British fight between Brook and Eubank Jr. be made, it will no doubt answer many questions that currently surround the two and provide for an intriguing spectacle.
