Location change for Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao

The eagerly anticipated Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao fight continues to be in jeopardy.

It was officially announced for September at the Sphere in Las Vegas live on Netflix, but ‘Money’ Mayweather has casted some doubt over this proposed mega fight.

The first fight between Floyd Mayweather (50-0, 27ko’s) and Manny Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39ko’s) broke all sorts of commercial records, so why not do it again.

Since retirement, Mayweather has participated in a number of exhibitions.

However, the real unique selling point of this one is that it has been billed as a professional bout.

Subsequently, that means ‘Pretty boy Floyd’ will be risking his coveted unbeaten record, against a Pacquiao who came ever so close to becoming WBC welterweight champion last year.

A majority draw to Mario Barrios (29-3-2, 18ko’s) left the ‘Pac Man’ just a point away from becoming world champion at 47 years old.

These competitive 12 rounds for the Philippine will inevitably fill him with confidence as he sets his sights on avenging his unanimous decision defeat to Mayweather in 2015.

Stumbling blocks have appeared since the announcement.

Mayweather has casted doubt over both the location and the terms of the fight.

The man from Michigan has hinted at it being an exhibition bout, but team Pacquiao have categorically refuted.

The Filipino himself first said: “We both signed the contract and we both got advances on our purses, so there’s no way we’re going to cancel this fight.

The proposed date of September 19 at the Sphere now seems to be off the cards.

It has been revealed that The Eagles will be performing at the iconic Las Vegas venue on this date, so where does this leave Mayweather-Pacquiao?

Is it as simple as the same date but a new location, or is this fight in serious jeopardy, with Mayweather seemingly in some legal issues.
