Kristian Prenga comments on Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua

Prenga offers opinion on Fury vs. Joshua fight.

Those who didn’t know Kristian Prenga before his fight with Anthony Joshua will certainly do now. Last Saturday, the Albanian sent alarms blaring across all of Britain when he came extremely close to dispatching of the popular Englishman very early in the fight.

Decking Joshua twice in the very first round, it appeared Prenga was well on his way to shattering hopes of his foe having any more fights after that night. Only, Joshua would turn the tables and send Prenga flat on his back and halfway through the ropes in the very next frame.

It was exciting stuff, somewhat reminiscent of Jack Dempsey’s 1923 fight against Luis Angel Firpo and other multi-knockdown heavyweight fights.

But while Prenga didn’t quite shatter British hearts (which were very much in British mouths), he did manage to convince a lot of people that Joshua has lost his punch resistance.

In fact, many concluded that Prenga threw the fight to allow for Joshua’s anticipated big-money match with Tyson Fury to happen, something denied by both Keith Sullivan (Prenga’s manager) and Prenga himself.

But as for the Fury vs. Joshua fight, the Albanian has now stated who he believes will win after very nearly derailing plans for it to take place.

“I think both are tough and good fighters,” stated Prenga to SveaCasino, “but ‘AJ’ knocks Tyson Fury out.

“I would fight Tyson any day. He ran his mouth before my fight with ‘AJ’. I would welcome showing him my Albanian power in the ring anytime he is ready for it.”

Should the Joshua fight not take place, a fight against Prenga (who Fury humorously referred to as “Mr. Pringles”) would be an interesting substitute.

However, it is looking more likely that the Fury-Joshua bout will be made.
