Keyshawn Davis set to move to welterweight

After victory on Saturday night in front of his home crowd, Keyshawn Davis is ready to move up to welterweight in pursuit of world titles.

Keyshawn Davis moved to 15-0 on Saturday with a convincing points victory over Nahir Albright in Top Ranks inaugural DAZN feature.

Whilst the scorecards suggest a simple victory for Davis, it does not quite paint the full picture.

Davis missed the 140lbs limit initially, showing signs that the super lightweight limit is a struggle for the former lightweight world champion.

The man from Virginia has previously expressed his desire to challenge the sports best at welterweight.

The welterweight division is undoubtedly one of the sports most stacked in 2026.

Current champions are Ryan Garcia (WBC) Devin Haney (WBO) Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero (WBA) and Lewis Crocker (IBF).

Certainly the wheels have been in motion for big fights at 147lbs in recent weeks.

Both Devin Haney (33-0, 15ko’s) and Rolly Romero (17-2, 13ko’s) have engaged in verbal back and forth on X as their respective teams continue talks for a unification.

Ryan Garcia (25-2 ,18ko’s) recently captured his belt, and the potential of a Devin Haney rematch is one that fight fans are desperate for.

Flying the flag high for Northern Ireland is Lewis Crocker (22-0, 11ko’s).

He will face mandatory challenger Liam Paro in a rescheduled bout after injuring his hand in training.

Keyshawn Davis was pictured alongside Crocker’s promoter Eddie Hearn at a recent event and the two maintain a good relationship.

Davis has previously stated his willingness to fight Crocker in Belfast, and this could be a fight on the table for 2026.

The Ring have reported that it a move to 147lbs next is likely for Keyshawn, with Devin Haney marked as a future opponent.
