Keyshawn Davis has called out a British World Champion as he vows to fight in the UK in an action packed 2026.
Keyshawn Davis (14-0, 10ko’s) has called out a British World Champion in “a bid to be great” as he vows to fight in the UK.
Davis earned a 12th round stoppage victory on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in the co-main event of Teofimo Lopez vs Shakur Stevenson against Jamaine Ortiz (20-3-1, 10ko’s).
That was the man from Virginia’s first fight up at super lightweight after securing the WBC lightweight world title, knocking out Denis Berinchyk in round four last February.
Davis, who has had out of the ring issues throughout his career, seems to be fully focused on his boxing career and his performance at Madison Square Garden has opened up a plethora of world title opportunities for ‘the businessman’.
With Shakur Stevenson now becoming the Ring Magazine champion at super lightweight, the friendship between Davis and Stevenson will likely rule out any future fight proposed between the two.
However, a move to a new weight class is on Keyshawn Davis’s mind.
Speaking on the Nightcap Show, Davis spoke about his future: “I’m in a position where I can stay at 140 (super lightweight), and I can go crazy at 140”.
“I don’t have to go up to 147 (welterweight), I’m making the decision to go up to be great”.
“As long as the respect levels there, and it’s worth my time moving up to fight Devin Haney (33-0, 15ko’s), then I’ll fight him”.
“There’s another champion out there, his name is Lewis Crocker (22-0, 11ko’s). Me and Eddie Hearn have been talking about him before Devin Haney even surfaced”.
“He’s from the UK, so I would love to go to the UK and fight Lewis Crocker as well, before I fight Devin Haney”.
“Lewis Crocker then Devin Haney, I want to fight three times this year”.
Keyshawn Davis is a Top Rank fighter, however with their lack of broadcast deal currently, there is a possibility Davis could feature against Lewis Crocker on a UK Matchroom show, in a fight that could see Crocker return to Windsor Park.
