Fisher’s Zuffa debut opponent has been revealed.
Fan-favourite British heavyweight Johnny Fisher will be making his debut under Zuffa Boxing when he steps inside his beloved Copper Box Arena this September.
A Matchroom Boxing fighter since his professional debut over five years ago, “The Romford Bull” managed to garner a very loyal fanbase and gain popularity as a ticket-seller.
His rise eventually saw him appear on a Riyadh Season card, facing another fan-favourite heavyweight from Britain (Dave Allen) on the undercard of the rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
After being dropped in the 5th round, Fisher would go on to win a very controversial split decision, one which warranted a rematch and got one just under five months later.
The second fight took place at the familiar territory of the Copper Box, but this time, after getting knocked down once again in the 5th round, Fisher was also knocked out.
He would return that same December in Monaco, where he faced difficulty against unbeaten Slovakian fighter Ivan Balaz before ultimately securing victory in the fourth frame.
That was Fisher’s last taste of action, and since then, he has left Eddie Hearn’s promotional stable and joined Dana White’s ever-growing Zuffa roster, headlining in his debut under his new roof.
While the location, date, and undercard for his fight was confirmed last week, his opponent was not. Until earlier today, that is.
Now we have official confirmation that Johnny Fisher (14-1, 12 KOs) will be facing off against Michael Pirotton (12-2, 6 KOs), a 30-year-old heavyweight from Belgium who previously fought Piotr Lacz in the WBC Grand Prix last year.
On the night, Pirotton will be making his U.K. debut.
🥊 Announced: Johnny Fisher will face Michael Pirotton in the main event of Zuffa Boxing 11 on September 26th at the Copper Box Arena in London.
