After just two fights in close to five years, a return has been officially announced for former two weight champion Jermall Charlo.
Jermall Charlo is a two weight world champion, however his career has really stalled, with only four fights in the last six years.
His last fight was a sixth round knockout technical knockout victory over Thomas LaManna (40-6-1, 19ko’s) in May 2025.
Charlo has had successful campaigns at super welterweight and middleweight.
However, over recent years, inactivity has disrupted Charlo’s career.
Just two fights in five years, Charlo needs activity.
The victory over LaManna was up at super-middleweight, so could an attempt at becoming a three weight world champion be on the horizon?
Earlier this year, Charlo took to social media to throw his name in the hat for Canelo Alvarez’s return for September.
He had dreams of avenging his brothers defeat to the Mexican star, but things didn’t materialise.
Canelo will take on Christian Mbilli for the WBC super middleweight world championship in Riyadh.
For Jermall, his return after a year absence has just been announced.
The undefeated star will be travelling down under to Australia to feature on the undercard of Errol Spence vs Tim Tszyu.
Spence himself has been inactive.
Come fight night in Australia, it would have been close to three years of inactivity for the former pound for pound star.
Spence was involved in a damaging car crash, and his last fight was a one sided beatdown from the hands of Terence Crawford.
Whilst the Australian crowd will be in attendance for the hometown hero Tim Tszyu, many round the world will be watching with a keen eye to see just what is left of Jermall Charlo and Errol Spence.
