Jarrell Miller returned to winning ways against Kingsley Ibeh this weekend and is already targeting major names in the heavyweight division.
Jarrell Miller captured the attention of fans around the world this weekend when he returned from a 17-month hiatus to face Kingsley Ibeh.
Despite earning a victory, it was an off-beat moment rather than his in-ring performance that sparked conversation.
The incident occurred late in the second round of their bout at Madison Square Garden, when Ibeh unleashed a flurry of punches that caused Miller’s hairpiece to begin lifting at the front.
Miller managed to survive the round before removing it in his corner and throwing it into the crowd.
The 37-year-old then completed the fight without it and went on to secure a split-decision victory.
After claiming his first win since stopping Lucas Browne in 2023, questions were raised over whether Miller will go on to face the winner of Derek Chisora vs Deontay Wilder.
He told IFL TV post-fight: “Any one of them guys [I would fight]
“Like I said, right now, I want to just take a week off. There’s another card in Nigeria coming up.
“I just want to get the rust off.”
For now, Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller is patiently waiting to pen his next deal.
His manager, Spencer Brown, was also present during the interview and confirmed that his fighter has been offered a bout against Britain’s Joe Joyce.
The two heavyweights have been linked for a potential showdown for the past five years, though various hurdles have kept the fight from happening.
It seems that the fight is once again back on the negotiating table.
Miller continued: “I want to get back in the ring ASAP, man. Just to get the rust off.
“Listen, I still want to move. F*** that.
“I’ll still take anybody, bro. Like I said, you’re only as good as your last fight.
“Andy [Ruiz] was a good performance. A year later, I had an okay performance. Just get back in the ring, man.
“Like, boxers constantly have to be improved.
“So, like I said, it was a rough day. It was another tough guy, and [Ibeh] fought three or four times last year.
“It was my first fight back. He didn’t win 10 rounds.
“So let’s just heal up a little bit. See if I grow some hair back and get back in the ring.”
