Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions to offer Katie Taylor an opponent for last professional fight

MVP co-founder suggests a fighter of his who could face Katie Taylor.

Katie Taylor has a claim to being the best women’s boxer not just of her generation, but potentially of all time. There will, of course, inevitably be debate in that regard, but there is no denying that she is in that conversation.

From the moment she began boxing, Taylor was breaking gender barriers, and it was clear from very early on that she was something exceptionally special.

She won 18 gold medals as an amateur, one of which was in the 2012 London Olympics. And when she turned professional in 2016, it wasn’t long before she was fast-tracked to stardom.

Taylor was seen as one of the best female boxers in the world for years, yet it was in 2022 that she really cemented her status as one of the best to ever do it in the women’s side of the sport, for it was then that she defeated 7-weight world champion Amanda Serrano in what was the first women’s boxing fight to headline the historical Madison Square Garden.

Taylor would fight Serrano two more times and win twice more. In a 26-fight career, Taylor has lost just once to Chantelle Cameron, a defeat that was avenged.

Throughout her career, Taylor has become a two-weight undisputed champion and beaten half of the women’s top-ten pound-for-pound list, yet it is also true that she will be 40 this July. And despite being Irish, she is not evergreen.

That’s why Taylor is expected to be having her farewell fight at Croke Park in Dublin sometime this year, and Nakisa Bidarian (co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions alongside Jake Paul) has put forward a few of his fighters to potentially serve as Taylor’s final dance partner.

Bidarian has stated his desire to work with Matchroom Boxing to stage Taylor’s last fight, saying, “If Eddie [Hearn] and I sat down together and came up with a plan for that Croke Park fight, we want to do it together.”

Bidarian put forward the winner of the upcoming WBA lightweight title rematch between Holly Holm and Stephanie Han as Taylor’s potential last opponent, but MVP also has Caroline Dubois, Terri Harper, Alycia Baumgardner, and Chantelle Cameron as part of their stable.

Any of those would be great options for Taylor’s last fight, but ultimately, “The Bray Bomber” will do big numbers regardless of who she fights in her native Ireland.

That’s just the type of star that she is.
